Crisp Rebrand
logotype design | menu layout | custom dieline
Crisp is a Korean-American Barbecue restaurant located in Lakeview, founded by Doug Funke and Jae Lee. Both first generation Americans, they grew up in homes brimming with traditional Korean dishes. They traveled coast to coast trying 200 different barbecue recipes and finally unveiled a menu laden with American twists on their families' original recipes. The rebrand incorporates linework reflecting the journey, metaphorical for finding their own identities as multicultural individuals as well.
Custom dieline made for the chopstick holders, which fold together origami-style.
Logotype
Custom logotype inspired by Hangul, the Korean writing system, where each syllable is made up of letters stacked vertically. Crisp is all about fusing cultures, hence the combination of the Korean structure and American letters.
